Liner Notes in the Tyrant’s Record Collection, from the Stolen Journals

Songs From the No Globe: Volume 1 is a selection from a trove of forbidden sequential computer music found within a spice hoard within a recently discovered no globe on Planet Gammu. As with most No-discoveries, it is exceedingly difficult to determine the origins of items found within these spaces out of time and hidden from His view. However, given the deep historical origins of the technology behind no-rooms and no-ships, the music itself could and should date back to before Holtzman's time of the Butlerian Jihad over 20,000 years ago, to a time when such computational endeavors were not considered evidence of the devolution of man in his foolish and prideful interdependence on thinking machines. Additionally, although forensic investigation tells us these were transcribed to Ixian crystal sometime in the 12k century, the exact vintage of these recordings appear much older. We cannot even tell with certainty that these dangerously hypnotizing compositions were even composed by a human. Some of the songs begin with the patriotic charm of Gurney’s baliset, but end with the treasonous disregard of the Baron in his vat of filth. Others seem to fall apart at the seems. Ancient lore tell of bands of humans so seduced by the evils of computation that they gave up their bodies for a silicon horizon, melding equally with the sterile mind and infertile body of computational algorithms, producing "mind melting" spectacles in this pre-navigator cross-form for hordes of robotized human souls. Listen to these cold dead voices with the vigilance of a Reverend Mother, but enjoy them with the vigor of an Honored Matre!

It should be noted that other ancient items were found near the computer music stash: a boxy mechanical finger keyboard device with wires and knobs on a slanted panel connected to a simple and obedient thinking machine called a sequencer, and a device with percussive sounds, all connected to a common loudspeaker system. What appears to be the disgusting failed attempt of a union of man and machine could be nothing more, and we hope was nothing more than pure coincidence! Needless to say that correlation is not causation, as the suspected relationship between the music and these computing devices, both forbidden relics from a fraught era, might also suggest that someone mistakenly thought they were having a really good time for a really long time. Likely a filthy Harkonnen yap of yore, hence we dub thee, Songs of Gammu.
